Full Fire

Tonight’s fire sponsors are Providence Hotels, Restaurants & Other Generous Supporters

TIME OF FIRE:

The fires will be lit shortly after sunset at 8:21 p.m. and remain lit until midnight.

WEATHER UPDATES:

(Updated: 6/12/10 6:29 p.m.) The temperature will be in the mid 70’s with partly cloudy skies throughout the day and drop to the low 60’s in the evening.  There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms, but we’ve been watching the weather closely and think the major storms will pass by about 8:30.  So, bring your umbrellas and get ready to experience the beauty of WaterFire in a whole new way!  We’ll see you at the river!

**Due to the rain forecast for this evening, we are unable to offer Starry Starry Night or Luminaria.  Please join us for the next full lighting on June 26th to share your wishes with the world!

Starry Starry Night

One hundred luminous blue stars are suspended in the triangular grove of trees in Memorial Park right next to Hemenway’s restaurant.

Beneath the beautiful blue stars are hundreds of Luminaria candle lanterns flickering on the lawn.  Please join us by making a wish and adding your light to the night.

**The installation is weather dependent and the Star Field will not be on display if the forcast calls for rain.

Mime Artist Michael Grando

Grando performs on the river as his character, Pierrot, tossing hundreds of long-stem carnations to the crowd from a boat starting at 8:30 p.m. and continuing throughout the evening.

Michael Grando, the noted master mime, will protray Pierrot (Pedrolino) from the Commedia del’arte, in his naive and everlasting quest to win the heart of a beautiful girl. Each flower that Pierrot tosses to the crowd is accompanied by a different quote that illuminates the connections between life and art.
